In the ever-evolving world of skincare and skincare technology, LED masks have gained a lot of traction recently. They claim to help you achieve radiant, youthful skin right from the comfort of your own home. But do they deliver?
In this comprehensive guide, we’ll talk about the CurrentBody LED Mask that I own, exploring the benefits, features, and how it can revolutionize your skincare routine.
CurrentBody LED Mask Review

THE SCIENCE BEHIND LED MASKS
Before we dive into the specifications of the CurrentBody LED mask, it’s important to understand the science behind this skincare tool.
LED (Light Emitting Diode) therapy uses varying wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular activity and natural rejuvenation, resulting in a range of benefits for the skin.
From promoting collagen production to reducing inflammation, LED therapy is backed by scientific research and has gained widespread recognition in the skincare community.
WHY CHOOSE THE CURRENTBODY LED MASK?
Good question! There are a lot of red light masks out there right now. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this Dr. Dennis Gross mask because it has both red and blue light functions. And if you’re a Kardashian fan, you might have seen them use the DMH Aesthetics mask.
I decided to get the CurrentBody LED mask for a few reasons. First, it is made from a flexible material that molds to your face shape – which also makes it easy to travel with and store at home. Second, a few influencers that I trust and love it.
And third, the Currentbody LED Mask is 31% more powerful than other masks on the market. It is embedded with 132 LED bulbs and only uses clinically proven wavelengths to reach up to 4cm of skin tissue. Red light waves accelerate the production of new collagen, calms redness, boosts blood circulation, and helps you achieve a more even skin tone.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU USE THE CURRENTBODY LED MASK?
Like any skincare product, consistency is key if you want to see results. Luckily, it was surprisingly VERY easy for me to incorporate this mask into my routine.
All you need is 10 minutes per treatment and I do it 4-6 times a week. It doesn’t need to be plugged in so you can do other things while you have it on, but I like to use this as a part of my wind-down time before bed. It has become my nighttime meditation time before I read in bed.
DOES IT HURT?
Not even a little bit. They recommend doing a sensitivity test on your inner arm before using on your face just in case… but I truly don’t feel a thing. I always close my eyes when I first turn it on but then my eyes adjust and I can see if I need to.
There’s also no downtime at all. You can put your skincare products on right after – or if you prefer to do this in your morning, go ahead and put your makeup on.
WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?
Results obviously vary depending on the person, the amount of usage, and skin concerns, but here are a few things you might notice!
Improves fine lines & wrinkles
95% of users said their skin tone, texture, firmness and tightness were improved thanks to the LED light boosting collagen production.
Because LED light boosts blood circulation, it helps heal scarring caused by acne.
Calms redness
If you deal with a lot of redness, this LED mask can help reduce the size of broken blood vessels and make skin sensitivity symptoms calmer and less noticeable.
Heals breakouts
This mask reduces inflammation which can in turn help heal breakouts and shrink inflamed areas of the skin.
WHAT RESULTS HAVE YOU NOTICED?
After using this consistently (3-5 times a week) for the past 3 months, I have noticed a HUGE difference in my skin. First, it’s much clearer with fewer breakouts in general – but also I need less time to heal any breakouts that pop up. As a result, my skin tone is much more even and looks way better without makeup on.
I’ve also noticed that my skin texture has improved a lot. It feels firmer and smoother to the touch and it’s definitely reduced the appearance of fine lines already.
Another underrated result of this mask is that it’s helped me simplify my evening skincare routine. I don’t use nearly as many products anymore because this is such a powerhouse. It makes the price so much easier to justify too!
I don’t have a before and after side by side because I didn’t think to take a before picture before starting to use it. That being said, if you follow me on Instagram, you see my skin pretty often and I never use filters of any kind anymore so what you see is what’s happening with my skin! (I also saved some stories of my skin up close to this highlight!)

HOW OFTEN DO YOU HAVE TO CHARGE THE CURRENTBODY LED MASK?
Truthfully, I haven’t counted the amount of uses in between charges – but I feel like it holds a charge really well. I usually only have to charge this once a month or so.
DOES THE CURRENTBODY LED MASK EVER GO ON SALE?
Yes, but not often! I think they always do a cyber week sale, but any other discounts feel kind of random. I will always alert you if I hear of one though!
Conclusion: Is The Currentbody LED Mask worth it?
This LED mask is obviously not cheap, so I understand why you might be questioning if it’s worth it or not. But for me, it absolutely is.
As someone who doesn’t get Botox or facial treatments with any regularity, I really appreciate at-home skincare products that work. So the fact that I’ve noticed a difference in my skin since using this is huge.
Not to mention the fact that while $380 is a lot of money – it’s way less than getting treatments at a med spa every few months. Like…way less. And while an LED mask obviously isn’t going to be as effective as injections, I find it to be effective enough for me and my skin concerns right now.
The other big reason why I think this is worth it is because it’s SO EASY TO USE. All you need is 10 minutes a few times a week. You press a button, relax (or get stuff done since it’s portable/doesn’t need to be plugged in!), and then it automatically shuts off after the treatment is done.
I started using it at night and I quickly realized that it’s a perfect part of my nightly wind-down routine. Wash my face, meditate in bed with the mask on, put a serum on, and read before going to sleep. Literally IDEAL!
