Everyone’s hair and skin have different needs, and the products they use should be tailored to their texture and composition.

Silicones, which were investigated in this study[5], are not water soluble and can remain on the hair, leaving it dull and dry. However, they can also protect the hair shaft from abrasive damage and increase the fullness of the hair. It’s a dichotomy, but it’s entirely up to you.

After a quick mental examination of silicones, you can create your own scent. Here’s a list of wonderful options:

Function of Beauty Shampoo and Conditioner Review

First of all, I’m in love with these colors, but I appreciate that if I prefer, I don’t have to have any color at all. The Function of Beauty Shampoo & Conditioner is a bright, beautiful and bold best seller that comes in fantastic colors like lavender, petrol and bubblegum pink.

These bright beauties bring fun and energy to the shower and can be completely customized to suit your personality, needs, tastes and of course your hair desires. I like sunny yellow in combination with (M)ango fragrances. With colors like these, your partner certainly won’t confuse his shampoo with yours – unless he does it on purpose.

Function hair products are free from sulphates and parabens, completely vegan and cruelty-free. So what’s the deal with sulphates and parabens? Sulphates are a cleansing agent that strips the hair of its natural oils to remove any residue. Parabens[7] are used to extend the shelf life of the product by preventing the growth of bacteria and fungi.

While this sounds good, they can be overly harsh on the hair and damage the scalp. Better to skip Function.

You can also customize your purchase so that your formula is made free of silicones, dyes and fragrances. It’s really all up to you. And what I personally really liked is that the natural formulations contain up to 60 natural ingredients[8].

It is recommended to apply 1-2 pumps of the functional shampoo to wet hair. Massage the shampoo into a lather, rinse and repeat the application if necessary.

You can determine if you are using enough Function Conditioner by evenly coating your hair strands from mid-shaft to ends. Leave the conditioner in for 1-2 minutes after application before rinsing thoroughly.

The purple shampoo has been a lifesaver for me and many others who struggle with overly yellow strands after bleaching. The Purple Shampoo from Function of Beauty was developed for blonde and gray hair as well as bleached or highlighted hair.

The deep purple pigments eliminate brassy tones in blonde hair. This is actually simple color science, but it actually works. Although the purple shampoo promises similar results, this one from Function also increases shine and makes the color last longer[9].

When using the Purple Shampoo, you should apply it to all bluish areas and leave it on for 2-3 minutes. From Function of Beauty’s reviews, you should apply it for longer if you’re particularly pale. Rinse the shampoo out completely and then add a Function of Beauty conditioner to seal in the result.

Japanese sake extract[10] is an alcohol made from rice and water. It has been tested in laboratories and on living organisms and has been shown to be an anti-melanogenic ingredient[11] that promotes hair growth and repairs damage.
